You Can Be Part of Chirp Up’s “Birds of the Great Northeast” Inaugural Edition!
Chirp Up is seeking bird photographers and artists to contribute 10 works each to an inaugural edition collection of 50 premium quality trading cards each with a photo on one side and a painting or illustration on the other.
Chirp Up will co-publish printed cards with Rittenhouse Archives and digital cards with an established platform like Tibles.
Chirp Up will pay contributors an advance against royalties of $200 for 10 Works (NOTE: We’re more than happy to accept existing Work!) plus participation in a Royalty Pool that would be at least 10% of Net Sales until Chirp Up recoups out of pocket costs and at least 14% after that.
Chirp Up plans to repurpose card images for a handful of ancillary printed, licensed products that may include stickers or decals for kids and teens, and maybe a poster of all of the cards in a grid. Royalties generated from sales of all licensed products will go into the Pool.
Chirp Up would not use any card image on any other products without a separate agreement with the contributor. Having said that, we do plan/hope to use both printed and digital cards in co-promotions with pro-bird not for profit and for profit organizations. to help promote the hobby of birding and to get birders started in the hobby of card collecting.
Also, if your portfolio includes both photography and paintings or illustrations, please consider contributing works for both sides of the 10 cards for $400 and two shares in the royalty pool.
If you’re interested, please email your submissions to Bill@chirpup.org.
